Our Mission

At Geared Up Kids, we believe every child is created with purpose. Our mission is to provide brand new essential personal items to support foster children entering foster care in the rural communities of eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Through our efforts, we aim to ensure that these children have the necessary items for success, while also encouraging donations for foster care to enhance foster family support.

We serve the very rural towns of eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Many of these towns do not have a "big box store" (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) and finding new essential items is a challenge for foster families.

Foster families will contact us and be given a checklist of items to choose from that are needed for their newly placed child(ren). When we know what is needed, one of our members will drive to the nearest town where the items can be purchased, buy the specific items as indicated by the foster parent, and deliver them to a designated meeting place. Ideally, this happens within the first 48 hours of placement. The items are the child's to keep and will go with them as they continue their journey. 

We believe we are called to supply brand new items to children entering foster care, and many of the items needed are things like school supplies, underwear, socks, haircare, etc. We currently cannot accept donations of physical items, as we do not have storage facilites.
